I would point any working adult looking to change careers to STCC; they know where the jobs are!

“I am so proud to be a member of the first graduating class from STCC’s Health Information Technology (HIT) program. My career path began as a graduate of STCC’s Physical Therapist Assistant program in 1993. After working in the field, I stopped to raise my family and then became a pharmacy technician. I was aware that paper recordkeeping would be transitioning to a federally mandated electronic standard in the healthcare industry.

Friends of mine were enrolled in STCC’s Medical Coding & Billing program when I heard about the new HIT degree. HIT combines two of my career interests: information technology and healthcare. STCC’s program is the only one in the region, and I’ve been fortunate to be taught by Professor McKethan, who is not only an excellent professor but an industry professional with consulting and training experience.

My career goal is to work for a healthcare information technology vendor in the area of training and software development. I would point any working adult looking to change careers to STCC; they know where the jobs are!”  Kristin Audette

“Kristin leveraged her prior clinical healthcare work experience into a new career option. The field of health information technology is wide open and offers great opportunities for everyone from the career changer to the recent high school graduate.”  Tracey McKethan, MBA, RHIA, CCA, Professor and Department Chairperson, Health Information Technology
