- CLLS-103 - MEDICAL LABORATORY SAFETY (5 WEEKS) 1 credit
- This course introduces the allied health student to medical safety rules and OSHA guidelines. Strict observances of these rules and practices is essential in the medical field. An understanding and implementation of these rules are necessary before beginning work in the clinical laboratory, phlebotomy, and related work areas. This course will make the student aware of the hazards he or she will encounter, how to safely handle blood-borne pathogens and biohazardous material, and how to successfully prepare for an inspection. Recommended for all allied health students, and required for Clinical Laboratory Science students. CO-REQUISITE: CLLS-101L CLLS-101 Three lecture hours.
