Alumni Testimonials - Susan Simon
STCC was a stepping-stone to a wonderful career as a physical therapist. I graduated from STCC in 1978 as a Physical Therapist Assistant. I worked in the area for several years before re-locating to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I had no difficulty finding a job as a PTA in Pittsburgh - My education at STCC prepared me well.
After several years in Pittsburgh, I enrolled in the Physical Therapy Program at the University of Pittsburgh. I graduated in 1988 with a BS in Physical Therapy. I was one of the first 100 PT's in the country to become a Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Pediatric Physical Therapy. Today I am self-employed and work as a consultant to several MH/MR facilities in Pittsburgh. I would not have been so successful in my career if it were not for the encouragement from Lucille Hood PT (then director of the PTA Program at STCC) and the wonderful education I received there. I am ever grateful.
