Alumni Testimonials - Gregory Talbot

I attended STCC from 74 to 76. By the time, I decided to back to College I had been out of the Army since 67 and had been working construction.  I was married and had one son.  I went back to STCC under the GI bill.  At this point, I had been 10 years out of Cathedral High School. College was not an option when I graduated from high school, I didn't have the grades or the money to even consider it.

In 1974 we hit a recession and the company I was working for was laying people off which made the decision to go to college easy.  I picked a course called Heat Power and Engineering.  I ended up graduating at the top of my class.  After graduation I was recruited by a small start-up company in Long Island NY and I have been there ever since.  This small company has grown in the last 30 years and today I am the senior vice president with only the founder's two sons above me.

I have had the opportunity to do things that would never have been available if it was not for STCC.

I have traveled all over the world and get to go to some of the finest restaurants and recreational facilities available, in other words life is good - all this due to the education I received at STCC.

So thank you STCC!
