| STCC has been selected by the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (CEC) to lead a $1.875 million, three-year statewide
grant program to create the Massachusetts Green Energy Education Network Institute (MassGREEN.) A partnership among all 15
Massachusetts community colleges, with industry, employers, nonprofit agencies and government entities will develop and deliver
workforce training in energy efficiency and building sciences. The project is funded through the Massachusetts CEC, with the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs. It will develop curriculum and offer education through the community colleges, to establish a skilled green collar workforce in weatherizing current homes, and constructing new homes in ways to make them more energy efficient. This award is effective July 24th, 2009. | |

Community College, Greenfield Community College, Berkshire Community College, Baystate Health, Berkshire Health, Holyoke
Medical Center, Mercy Medical Center, the Hampden County Regional Employment Board, the Berkshire County Regional
Emplyment Board, Springfield Public Schools, the World is Our Classroom, Mass AHEC, and the Mason Square Veterans Outreach
Center of Springfield.

The program provides classes for basic literacy, pre-ged, ged and ged math. | The STCC Adult Education Center is proud to announce that the Massachusetts Department of
Elementary and Secondary Education has approved 2 grants for fy2009 for the STCC Pathways to Success
MCAS Program. The college will receive $36,000 for the academic year program and $16,000 for the summer program.
Our next session will run from September 8th to December 10th, 4:30pm-7:30pm in the Adult Education Center
building 27,1st floor. The program provides students the English and math remediation needed to pass the MCAS
re-test along with college readiness, college survival , and career exploration activities. The program will
serve students from the classes of 2003 through 2010.
