| Helping Us to Help You: 4 Steps to Grantseeking Success | |
| Requesting help from the Development Office is an easy 4 step process. Step 1 - Online Intake Form: Fill out the Online Intake Form If you are eligible, please be sure to check the box for the President's Grantseeker Award on the Intake Form Click here to read the President's Grantseeker Award guidelines President's Grantseeker Award Step 2 - Follow-up Phone Contact: After receiving your Online Intake Form, the Development Office will call you at the phone number you list on the Intake Form and administer a Follow-up Phone Contact. During this contact, you will be asked a series of more specific questions regarding your request, an appointment for an Initial Strategy Meeting will be made to meet with Director of Grants Deborah Koch, and you will be sent the *Dean's Checklist in PDF format, for you to print and fill out with your appropriate Dean. *The Dean's Checklist may also be downloaded at any time from the "Development Tools" sidebar to the left The filled out Dean's Checklist MUST be brought with you to your Initial Strategy Meeting with Ms. Koch. Doing so will ensure that the proper channels of communication are kept informed and will greatly expedite the grant seeking process. Step 3 - Initial Strategy Meeting: There are two main approaches possible for the Initial Strategy Meeting. The first approach is for those requests that are in the early stages of development, where an idea for a project or grant proposal may be there, but no potential funders or concrete details regarding a possible project have been identified and developed. If this is the case, you will meet with Ms. Koch and she will work with you to flesh out the project ideas to determine if they are feasible and fundable, and will help you to decide a course of action in pursuing potential funding. The second Initial Strategy Meeting approach is for those requests that have already identified a potential funder (or funders) for a project and need to move forward towards Request for Proposal (RFP) submittal. In this meeting, you will work with Ms. Koch to develop the essential information regarding your proposal. The Grants Office will provide you with an Activity Checklist and Timeline in this meeting that will entail every pertinent activity related to the grant, and identify who is responsible for the completion of each activity as agreed upon in the Initial Strategy Meeting. Step 4 - Proposal Completion: Upon final administrative review to determine that any and all concerns are met to satisfaction, the Grants Office will work with you (as determined by the Activity Checklist and Timeline produced in your Initial Strategy Meeting) to bring the proposal to a successful submission by the due date of the RFP. |
