Weather & Emergencies Closings
Extreme weather conditions such as tornadoes, hurricanes, heat waves, flooding, and snow or ice may create circumstances in which it is necessary to close or delay the opening of the College. Likewise, any major utility failures such as a power outage or loss of heating/cooling can also necessitate the closure of a building or the entire campus.
Campus closures are advertised as an announcement on the local radio and television stations, STCC web page, and the College's main telephone message at the earliest time possible.
- Radio: WHAI/WHMP, WTIC, WHYN, WBRK
- Television: CBS-3, WWLP-22, WGGB-40

The easiest way to find out whether classes will be delayed or cancelled is through the STCC Emergency Alert Notification System. You will receive all cancellation information via a text message to your cell phone the minute a decision is made.
Springfield Technical Community College has partnered with RAVE Mobile Safety to provide an emergency alert system. This system is capable of delivering messages to your STCC and personal email addresses, as well as your landline and cell phone.
We have enrolled you in this program with the current information we have on file. To ensure that you receive notifications, we encourage you to log into the Rave Mobile Safety site to confirm your contact information and choose your notification preferences. (Note: your cellular phone carrier may charge a per-text fee for the delivery of emergency notifications to your cell phone). Once you have verified your account, you can use this link to change your preferences and opt-out of receiving text and or voice alerts.
If you are having problems getting into Rave, please note that your username for Rave is your full STCC email address. Once you type in your username you can click forgot password to reset your password.
If you have difficulty logging in or you have any questions, please notify the IT Help Desk at 413-755-4016 or email email@example.com.
