David Charron/Khambrel Wilson
Since the day he was born, Khambrel Wilson faced health challenges that would have brought most of us to a standstill. Determined to continue his education, and focused on his future, Khambrel came to STCC to major in Business Administration after graduating from Longmeadow High School. "I wasn't ready to leave home, and needed to grow and become more independent. My Mom had attended STCC and she told me about the small classes and the friendly atmosphere on campus. Once I started taking classes, STCC felt like home to me. In my final semester I was hospitalized and my Finance professor, David Charron, really helped me keep connected to the College."
Professor Charron says, "I learned far more from Khambrel than he learned from me. While he was in the hospital he continued to do his school work through email and regular mail. He showed up the last week of classes to do a group presentation and he was clearly the group leader. Khambrel was totally prepared, gave his presentation without notes, and just blew me away. Khambrel is an inspiration to so many people and he is the reason why I teach at STCC."
Khambrel graduated in May 2007 and will continue his Business Administration studies at UMASS/Dartmouth. "STCC was a perfect fit for me. My professors for both day and evening classes were so knowledgeable. I received the same education I'd get at a four year college but at half the cost. I couldn't be happier with the start STCC has given me!"
