A.C.C.E.S.S.
1996- 1999
(Alliance of Cooperating Colleges and Employers for Student Success)
Project A.C.C.E.S.S. was a model demonstration project focused on increasing the educational and employment opportunities for people with disabilities within the Greater Springfield community by increasing the awareness of employers, educators, vocational counselors and students about the usefulness of assistive technology as means of enhancing these educational and employment opportunities. The Project created a consortium among the Cooperating Colleges of Greater Springfield, local Vocational Rehabilitation offices, business leaders, and the local "One Stop Career Center". This consortium became the target for education, training and dissemination of information about assistive technology. The Project discussed and demonstrated adaptive technology available for individuals with:
Blindness and Visual Impairments
Deafness and Hearing Impairment
