Health Holds or Cash Holds
If you are a returning student and have outstanding financial obligations to the college, or if you have not satisfied the Immunization Records requirement for some departments, you will be blocked from registering online. If you see a message indicating that a health record and/or cash hold has been placed on your account, contact the appropriate office. Once the hold has been removed, you will be able to register for classes.
Health Record hold: Health Services Office, Building
16, room 124, 755-4230
Cash hold: Cashier's Office, Building 15, 755-4322
Students are urged not to purchase textbooks prior to the start of classes in case of course cancellation or professor changes. Time will be allotted during the first class meeting to enable students to purchase books.
Student IDs / RamCards
You may get your student ID/RamCard at the beginning of the semester. You need the RamCard to use the STCC library, take placement tests, use the fitness center, and buy discounted tickets in Student Activities.
Your RamCard also has your student number on it which you will need during your time at STCC. Please bring a Driver's License or MA ID with you. RamCards are available in the RAMCard office, located in Building 15, between the Student Accounts and Registrars Offices.
You will notice at the end of the course descriptions in this catalog, that some courses have prerequisites. These help to ensure that you are ready for the challenge of the course material and assignments. It is your responsibility to ensure that you meet any specified course prerequisites. If you receive a message indicating that you do not meet the course prerequisites, you may wish to select a different course.
Please register for your courses as soon as possible. That way, you'll minimize the chance of being unable to create the schedule that you need, because of full class enrollments. If you encounter a full class, you may wish to check its enrollment at a later date, in case space should become available.
