*NEW* Mattress Clarity Scholarship Program
This is a new $1000 scholarship award open to students who are currently enrolled in high school (seniors only), college, university, or trade school.

*NEW* The Walter S. Barr Scholarship
Last year, The Horace Smith Fund awarded $420,000 in scholarships to residents of Hampden County. The Walter S. Barr Scholarship, administered by The Horace Smith Fund, is for $10,000 (annual award of $2500 for a maximum of four years undergraduate studies).
Who is eligible to apply?
Any student who is a graduating senior from a high school in Hampden County.
Any graduating senior from a high school in Hampden County who has been on an Individual Education Plan (IEP) for a minimum of two years.
Any college student, who graduated from a high school in Hampden County, with more than one remaining year of undergraduate studies

MyBioSource is all about opening up doors to thriving students allowing them to explore the endless possibilities in science. With our scholarship program, students will be able to use the award towards tuition, books, supplies, or other costs that come along with obtaining a higher education.
- High School Seniors and Undergraduates as well as international students can apply
- Candidate must be enrolled as a freshman or undergraduate student at an accredited college or university for the 2016 Fall semester
- Must have at least a 3.0 GPA

WyzAnt is the leading network of private tutoring and each year, we give out $15,000 in scholarships.
To enter, students just submit an essay of 150-300 words about a person who inspires them.

The lawyers of Clements & Clements understand the value of a higher education, and we also understand that obtaining one can be financially challenging for both students and their families. For this reason, we are pleased to offer a $1,000 scholarship to the winners of our Biannual College Scholarship Essay Contest.
In order to participate in the contest, applicants must submit a 500-word essay responding to the following question: The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that there were some 424,000 people injured in accidents involving distracted drivers during 2013. Distracted driving has become a serious public health issue, in no small part due to the popularity of smart phones and other personal Internet-enabled devices in recent years. Texas is one of a few states that has not placed restrictions on the way that all drivers can use cell phones. Do you think this type of legislation would reduce the risk of accidents attributable to distracted driving? Why or why not?

LA Tutors 123 Innovation Scholarship
LA Tutors 123, a private tutoring company in Los Angeles. We award a $500 Innovation Scholarship each month to students who showcase their creativity in a new exciting way to make a positive impact - whether it's setting a world record or becoming an activist for a worthy cause.
Currently enrolled students with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 (or the equivalent) should submit an essay describing their innovative project and provide supporting documentation (e.g. website, news article, letter of recommendation, etc.). All submissions are due by 11:59 PST on the 20th of each month.

Springfield Partners for Community Action
Springfield Partners for Community Action has $10,000 in scholarships available for Springfield residents attending college or a vocational training program in the fall of 2015. Closes 5/15/15 at noon. Springfield Partners for Community Action Flyer
Ten scholarships of $1,000 each are available.
Ten scholarships will be awarded to either adult learners accepted to an accredited Massachusetts college or vocational program, or to 2015 high school graduates attending an accredited Massachusetts college or vocational program this year.
Scholarship awards will only be made payable to the winner's college or school. Awards will be made at a Scholarship Awards Breakfast on Thursday, June 25, 2015. Winners must be present at the breakfast.
Applications must be received by May 15, 2015, at noon. Late entries will not be considered.

Applicants may be either first or second year students, planning to continue their education at a two-year institution.
Community College Transfer Scholarship Program
Datatel Scholars Foundation Scholarships
STCC is a Datatel Client college. The Datatel Scholars Foundation currently offers four scholarships aimed at targeting a variety of students across their client campuses. These scholarships are not financial need or solely academic based, therefore encouraging all students to apply. Any interested student must apply on line at the Datatel Scholars Foundation web site www.ellucian.com.
The DeMarco Scholarship, offered by the DeMarco family in memory of John Richard DeMarco, Jr., is open to all students attending the College during the day. The $300 scholarship is awarded to one student in the Spring semester.
Any student who is interested in applying for this scholarship must write a 500 word (maximum) essay on the following:
- The importance of an Associate Degree.
- Their goals and/or transfer plans and what academic area they are pursuing.
- Why this scholarship would assist them in their academic endeavors.
All entries must be submitted by November 30 of the Fall semester:

The DOMO Scholarship For Business Management is awarded annually to two (2) General Business, Business Management, or Analytics majors in the amount of $2,500 each. Father Robert F. Wagner Memorial Scholarship
The Bureau for Exceptional Children and Adults, Inc. in Holyoke (Jericho) has established the Father Robert F. Wagner Memorial Scholarship. Two $1,000.00 scholarships will be awarded annually to students from Western Massachusetts who are graduating from high school or who are enrolled in an accredited college or university.

Financial Aid for Minority Students
In recent years, a nationwide emphasis on the importance of diversity (particularly on college campuses) has generated many scholarships and grants for students who belong to underrepresented minority groups. Our comprehensive scholarship list includes financial aid opportunities exclusively reserved for African-Americans, Hispanics, women, and other specific minority groups, as well as more generalized awards that are made available to applicants belonging to any underrepresented demographic.

Follett Higher Education Textbook Scholarship
Fifteen to twenty textbook scholarships will be granted in the Fall and Spring semesters to returning STCC students.

Hispanic Scholarship Fund
The Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) sponsors many scholarships with companies such as MassMutual, Wal-Mart, and Verizon. Scholarships are available for graduating high school seniors; college students (including community college students); students transferring from a community college to a four-year school, and others. Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Scholarship Program
The Jack Kent Cook Foundation Undergraduate Scholarship Program is open to students who currently attend a community college or two-year institution located in the United States and plan to transfer to a four-year college or university for the Fall term. The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation will award scholarships in the spring for use beginning in the Fall term of the next academic year.

Massa LIGHT Scholarship is awarded to students entering the Laser and Fiber Optic Technology (LFOT) Associate Degree program at Three Rivers Community College (Norwich, CT) and the Laser Electro-Optics Technology (LEOT) Associate Degree program at Springfield Technical Community College (Springfield, MA).

Varsity Tutors Monthly Scholarship Description
Varsity Tutors offers a monthly $1,000 college scholarship contest to students who write the best essay in response to a monthly prompt. Visitors to the Varsity Tutors scholarship webpage will be able to vote via social media for submitted entries. The top five entries with the most votes will be reviewed by Varsity Tutors and one winner will be chosen who will receive a $1,000 college scholarship. Western Massachusetts Chiefs of Police Association
The Western Massachusetts Chiefs of Police Association, Inc. is organized for the specific purpose of informational exchange as it pertains to Law Enforcement issues. It is composed of Chiefs of Police of the four (4) Western Counties of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts; Berkshire, Franklin, Hampshire, and Hampden Counties, and persons interested in Law Enforcement. It shall be the duty of this Association to aid its members in the discharge of their duties, give counsel on questions and matters relating to the welfare of the Association, or individual members thereof.
