Sustainability at STCC - Energy Star Purchasing
- Adopt an energy-efficient appliance purchasing policy requiring purchase
of ENERGY STAR certified products in all areas for which such ratings exist.
- Springfield Technical Community College is required by Executive Order No.
484 to procure only computers, monitors, copiers, printers, and other office
equipment that are Energy Star qualified, enable all Energy Star features
upon installation, and establish policies and procedures to ensure that such
equipment continues to operate efficiently during its life. In addition the order, titled
Leading By Example- Clean Energy and Efficient Buildings, mandates the use
of energy efficient lighting, LED and/or photo luminescent exit signs, programmable
thermostats, and motion sensors.
