STCC Student Artwork Showcase

Each year, the Annual Student Art Work exhibition invites the Fine Arts faculty to select work to showcase their students’ finest portfolios. From colorful paintings to intricate prints, charcoal drawings to traditional gelatin silver photographs, and many other outstanding design projects, all artwork represents the culmination of a semester’s work in the Fine Arts Department at STCC.

Robert Markey and Frank Sleegers: Miracle on Worthington Street

Reception with artists: Thursday, October 30, 4pm-6pm.

Installation and use of material debris from the gas explosion on November 23, 2012, also known as what the Lt. Governor Murray called the “Miracle on Worthington Street." Markey is widely known in Springfield for public art projects, most notably, the “sneaker” project and murals.

Sally Curcio: Retroactive

Curcio, a mixed media artist, uses everyday materials, everything from beads to dolls, bottle caps to chains and sponges, transforming the mundane into a world from our childhood.
