Women Business Owners Coach High School Students at STCC
Fifty
young women from Chicopee Comprehensive High School, Monson High School, and
the LPVEC Career and Technical Education Center in West Springfield, attended
the annual Women in Business panel discussion at the Scibelli Enterprise Center
at Springfield Technical Community College on February 29. Held in recognition
of National Entrepreneurship Week, the event gave high school students the
opportunity to hear the experiences and advice of successful women business
owners from this area.
Participating in the panel discussion were:

- Amber Chand, owner, The Amber Chand Collection
- Ibithaj Amatul-Wadud, owner, Ippy’s Islamic Fashion
- Barbara Rodriguez, owner, Global Link Translations
The program was sponsored by the STCC Entrepreneurial Institute, for students in the YES! (Young Entrepreneurial Scholars) program that is held in high schools throughout Western Massachusetts. It was also attended by student business owners in the Student Business Incubator, which is located in the Enterprise Center.
