Join this fun field and be a part of what ABC NEWS ranks as the 4th hottest job in the US at a national average salary of $25 an hour! Whether a career move or for your own personal knowledge, this course will provide all of the information you need to become a CERTIFIED PERSONAL TRAINER. This challenging program is taught over a 5-week period for better retention and skill competency. Morning lectures include coverage of anatomy, exercise physiology, nutrition, health screening, etc. Afternoons are spent at an area gym providing practical "hands on" training that prepares you to actually work with clients.
The National Exam is held on the 9th week. Proof of CPR and a 30-hour internship that can be arranged after you complete this course will prepare you to work successfully in the fitness field. This program provides a great opportunity to network with employers while getting valuable experience.
This program is eligible for Workforce Investment Act (WIA) funding and Veteran's Educational Benefits in many states. Interested applicants should check with FutureWorks or CareerPoint re: possible WIA funding or with STCC's Office of Veterans' Affairs at (413) 755-4393 for additional information re: Veterans' benefits.

To Enroll Online:
Click: ‘On Line Registration’ on the left side of this webpage.
Click on Search and Register for Workforce Training Classes
Type in "trainer’ and hit 'Submit"
Carefully click the SELECT box for the course that you want to take. There may be several choices so make sure you select the right course and dates.
Enter in your personal and credit card information. Your receipt will be immediately emailed to you. It should have the Building and Classroom for the course.
If it does not, check with our office at 755 4225 a few weeks prior to the class to confirm the room numbers.
