Graduating from STCC's Nursing Program is the first step toward achieving my goal of becoming a certified nurse midwife.
Tali Branco first attended college after high school, then like many returning adult students, came to STCC with a clearer career path in mind. Tali is a “doula,” a non-medical childbirth assistant/labor coach who has volunteered and worked privately supporting families during the childbearing year. “Graduating from STCC’s Nursing Program is the first step toward achieving my goal of becoming a certified nurse midwife. The second step is this fall. I’ve been accepted into the RN-BSN program at UMASS/Amherst which will prepare me to apply to a master’s degree program in midwifery. Coincidentally, one of my favorite STCC nursing professors, Patricia McPeak-LaRocca, is a nurse midwife and she was very encouraging about career opportunities. For her, teaching is truly a ‘labor of love,’ and I benefited tremendously from her challenging coursework.See all Success Stories
