City of Springfield Mask Mandate - September 13, 2021

Dear STCC Campus Community:

On Thursday, September 9th, Springfield Mayor Domenic J. Sarno, and Health and Human Services Commissioner Helen Caulton-Harris, announced that effective today, Monday, September 13th, masks will be required at all public places and gatherings to halt the spread of the coronavirus. The citywide mandate runs through November 1st and covers the entire STCC campus. Please note that the college already requires that masks be worn inside all campus buildings. Masks must also be worn outdoors if six-feet of social distancing cannot be maintained. The order applies to student-athletes practicing and playing games on campus. Masks may be removed for eating and drinking and the specific order can be found here:

Springfield-ma.gov: COVID-19 Mandatory Policies and Procedures for Wearing of Masks or Other Face Coverings in the City of Springfield

If you have any questions regarding the requirement of masks on campus, please email repopulate@stcc.edu. Thank you for your attention, and STCC continues to strongly encourage all students and employees to be vaccinated.
