Medical Office Administrative Assistant
Medical administrative assistants are seen as part of the health care management team and ensure the efficient day-to-day operations in a hospital, medical office, or healthcare-related industry. Responsibilities may include operating computer systems, interacting with vendors and patients, managing calendars, preparing reports, and providing exemplary customer service. Students in this program complete courses in medical office communications, project management, electronic health records, medical terminology, and “soft skills” for career readiness and success.

This program prepares students for employment for front office careers in a medical office (physician, clinic, or hospital). The curriculum reflects changes taking place in medical offices today. The medical administrative professional uses advanced technologies for office communications, word processing, medical office management, and electronic health records.
Upon successful completion of the program students are prepared to take the Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) examination.
Upon the successful completion of requirements for this program, the degree of Associate in Science in Office Information Technologies will be awarded.
