This certificate prepares you for an entry level IT Help Desk position. Key to this certificate is exposure to core IT concepts, Operating Systems, PC Networking and preparation for the CompTIA A+ certification.

Successful completion of the following required courses would prepare the student for employment as a computer systems manager of a small- to medium-sized office. This could involve doing routine maintenance, upgrades of hardware and software, minor hardware repairs, and software installations, as well as having a solid foundation in several computer applications.
All entering CIT majors taking one or more CIT courses during the day will be required to purchase a Dell laptop that satisfies certain minimum specifications. The specifications will be provided students when they are accepted so they can determine whether they have a laptop that meets the requirements. In the event they don't, a link will be provided to the Dell website so that students can purchase a computer directly from the company. Dell will accept Master Card/Visa or will also try to arrange a payment plan.
Upon the successful completion of requirements for this program, a Certificate of Completion in Microcomputer Specialist will be awarded.
