Professional Office Administrative Assistant
Administrative assistants are seen as part of the management team and ensure the efficient day-to-day operations of the office. Responsibilities may include: managing calendars; scheduling travel, meeting and event arrangements; preparing reports and financial data; training other support staff; and providing exemplary customer service. Students in this program complete courses in Microsoft Office, project management, keyboarding, Internet research, and “soft skills” for career readiness and success.

This program is designed to prepare students for careers as administrative professionals. The curriculum reflects the rapid changes taking place in offices today. The administrative professional uses sophisticated technologies for telecommunications, word processing, spreadsheets, database management, desktop publishing, and presentations. Today's administrative professional is seen as part of the management team and has administrative responsibility that may include planning, organizing, and directing certain activities and functions.
Upon the successful completion of requirements for this program, the degree of Associate in Science in Office Information Technologies will be awarded.
