Business Leaders Owning Opportunity Matters (BLOOM) Bridge

LEAD students at Gala

Springfield Technical Community College (STCC) is proud to partner with The KPMG U.S. Foundation’s Reaching New Heights Program to offer a transformative new opportunity for our students. The BLOOM Bridge program empowers female-identifying Latina students from low-income households to pursue a major in a business program, business career, or transfer into a business program at a four-year college or university.

BLOOM Benefits

BLOOM students will automatically be enrolled in the Female Leadership and Mentoring Program (Lead) at STCC, to enhance their academic and career success in the Business Career or Transfer programs.

Students in the BLOOM program will:

  • Learn about the benefits of enrolling in business programs at STCC;
  • Identify their career/transfer goals through faculty mentoring;
  • Bolster their confidence in math through peer mentoring, tutoring, and academic support;
  • Enhance their digital literacy skills, necessary for becoming an academically prepared first-year college student; and
  • Receive two of the following courses for free:

Gift Impact

STCC received a $25,000 grant to fund BLOOM and is eligible for a 2:1 match, up to $500,000 in eligible donations made by KPMG professionals, partners, and retired partners.

This donation continues the work that STCC has done as a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI), a federal designation given to a small group of schools across the country with 25% or more full-time students that are Hispanic.
