STCC Student Accounts Office - Payment Options
Students must make an STCC Acceptable Payment Arrangement by the billing due date or their schedule is subject to deletion at any time.
Students who register after the billing due date must make an STCC Acceptable Payment Arrangement at the time of registration or their schedule is subject to deletion at any time.
STCC Acceptable Payment Arrangements
Payment In Full: Students can pay their entire balance in full on WebAdvisor or at the Office of Student Accounts. If a student registers for additional credits after their initial payment in full, they must pay for those credits. Partial payments are not considered an acceptable payment arrangement and will not save a student's schedule from being deleted.
Financial Aid File Complete (Fall and Spring only): Students who have not yet been awarded financial aid must have a completed financial aid file with the Financial Aid Office. If a student's file is reviewed and becomes incomplete prior to the start of classes, the student must make an STCC Acceptable Payment Arrangement. Students will be notified of their file becoming incomplete by mail or by e-mail sent to their STCC e-mail account. In addition, if students don't agree to take a loan they will not be considered to have a complete file. Spring students who filed for aid in the Fall and have not yet been awarded by the time they register for spring classes will need to make other payment arrangements.
Financial Aid: Students who are awarded financial aid can view their pending award amount by logging into WebAdvisor and clicking on "View Account and Make Payments" under Financial Information. NOTE: If pending aid is not enough to cover a student's balance, the student is responsible to pay any remaining balance. In addition, if a student is not making satisfactory academic progress their pending aid can be removed and they will need to make an STCC Acceptable Payment Arrangement. Pending aid is based on the assumption that students are taking a full time course load which is 12 credits or more. If a student is not enrolled full time, the amount of financial aid transmitted to their account will be prorated to reflect the amount of credits the student is enrolled in.
Payment Plan (Fall, Spring and Summer): Assisting our students in meeting their financial obligations is one of our top priorities. STCC provides a monthly payment plan through Nelnet Business Solutions. Students can enroll in this interest-free monthly payment plan by logging in to their WebAdvisor account and clicking on "Payment Plan". Please do not make any monthly Payment Plan payments on WebAdvisor as all Payment Plan payments will be automatically withdrawn from your credit/debit card or bank account. If you do make a payment to STCC via WebAdvisor and you are currently on a Payment Plan, you will not be refunded until your balance is paid in full. Click here for additional information (500K PDF).
A non-refundable 2.5% convenience fee is assessed to all Payment Plan payments made with credit/debit cards.
Third Party Billing/Outside Scholarships: Springfield Technical Community College accepts payments from a "Third Party". Students must submit a letter or voucher from the third party indicating the amount that will be paid and contact information. All payments will be due within 30 days from the time the College bills the third party. NOTE: Students are ultimately responsible for any tuition and fees not covered by the Third Party.
Please note that all letters/vouchers must be submitted on company letterhead informing the College of an "outside" scholarship for which you have qualified. The letter must include the amount of the scholarship, an address to send the invoice to, a contact name and phone number. If the scholarship does not cover the entire cost of your bill, you must pay for the remaining balance. The student is ultimately responsible for payment of all tuition and fees. If a third party is paying for your tuition and fees, there cannot be any restrictions on payments such as grades, number of credits, etc.
Veteran's Affairs and Military Benefits: All new students eligible to receive V.A. benefits must contact The Office of Veterans' Affairs after receiving their acceptance letters and registering for classes. All returning students receiving V.A. benefits must contact the Veterans' Affairs Office after pre-registration for the upcoming semester. Senior Citizen Tuition and Fee Exemption/Waiver Program: There is no charge for tuition and fees for a Massachusetts resident over the age of 60 (in other words, age 61 and older) for attending STCC, during traditional Fall or Spring semesters (credit bearing classes);WEEKDAY CLASSES ONLY, provided the College is not over-enrolled. Tuition only will be exempt if the credit bearing classes attended are through Continuing Education (evening, weekend, online or summer). Students wishing to take advantage of these exemptions will be required to provide documentation (such as a driver's license) showing proof of age and residence in Massachusetts prior to the start of each semester. In addition, the tuition/fee waiver program applies only to seniors enrolled in a degree granting program. The student must also be making satisfactory academic progress and is not in default of any student loans. The tuition/fee waiver program does not apply to non-credit courses. A senior citizen wishing to audit day classes and have the tuition and fees waived, may only request to audit two courses per semester.
STCC Payment Methods
Don't Wait In Line ... Pay Online via WebAdvisor!!! Students may pay by credit/debit card or e-check via their WebAdvisor accounts. To access this option students can log into their WebAdvisor account, and click on "Make a Payment - Non Payment Plan" under the Financial Information section. However, if you are signing up on the payment plan, make sure you select Payment Plan under Financial Information in order to retain your schedule with an acceptable payment arrangement.
E-Check: This is a Fee Free method of payment that may be paid via WebAdvisor or over the phone at (413) 755-4696.
Credit/Debit Cards: Students may pay via WebAdvisor, in person at the Student Accounts Office, located in Building 15 first floor or over the phone at (413) 755-4696. STCC accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. Students paying for tuition, fees, and related charges by credit/debit card are assessed a non-refundable 2.0% convenience fee.
CASH: Cash is a fee free method of payment accepted in person at the Student Accounts Office, located in building 15, Garvey Hall South.
Checks or Money Orders: These are Fee Free methods of payment. Checks and Money Orders are accepted in person at the Student Accounts Office, located in Building 15 first floor or mailed in.
