Industry & Government Support for CompTIA Certifications

The demand for skilled network support professionals continues to grow, and CompTIA Network+ is a valuable credential to help start or enhance a networking career. In fact, many IT certifications integrate CompTIA Network+ into their curriculums. Microsoft added CompTIA Network+ into their Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) program, and other corporations such as Cisco, Novell, HP, Lotus and 3Com also recognize CompTIA Network+ as part of their certification tracks.

  • CompTIA Network+® and the US Department of Defense
In 2004, the US Department of Defense (DoD) established Directive 8570.1: Information Assurance Training, Certification and Workforce Management. It requires that all DoD Information Assurance technicians and managers are trained and certified.

  • Many government agencies and contractors have found that requiring certification increases employee retention and productivity and keeps employees up-to-date on current technologies.

Government agencies and contractors that currently employ CompTIA-certified professionals include:

U.S. State Department FBI
American Embassy FAA
BAE Systems Booz Allen Hamilton
General Dynamics Northrop Grumman

Approved for DOD Information Assurance Directive 8570.1

The U.S. Department of Defense recognizes CompTIA certifications in its technical and management tracks for information assurance technicians and managers under DoD Directive 8570.1M. CompTIA certifications are also part of the State Department Skills Incentive Program (SIP).
