Biology Transfer Degree: Associate in Science in Engineering and Science Transfer

Building Automation Degree: Associate in Science in Energy Systems Technology

This program offers the background knowledge and hands-on experience required for the control of heating, cooling, and ventilation equipment in commercial buildings with programmable controllers. These systems can also control lighting, security such as door locks and cameras, and building power data. Students will have hands-on experience with EasyIO and Niagara Controllers as well as courses in the Internet of Things and Cisco. Graduates have found employment in companies such as Automated Logic, SNE, CTC Building Solutions, Siemens, Johnson Controls, and various others. Graduates will qualify to test for the MA Oil Burner Technician License, EPA 608 Certification, and MA 2nd Class Fireman’s License.

Students can enroll in the program either Fall or Spring, however, if the student wishes to complete the certificate in one year, it must be started in the fall. Students who complete this certificate are prepared for employment as entry-level part detailers using any CAD system or entry-level positions in any manufacturing company.

Physical Therapist Assistant Degree: Associate in Science in Physical Therapist Assistant

Physical Therapist Assistants work as technical health care providers who work under the supervision of a physical therapist. You would perform movement-related activities and therapeutic techniques for patients with burns, amputations, spinal cord injuries and cardiac, neurologic and orthopedic injuries. Such techniques might include gait training, heat and cold applications, massage and the use of assistive, prosthetic and orthotic devices. This two year program leads to an Associate degree and is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education.

Radiologic Technology Degree: Associate in Science in Diagnostic Medical Imaging

Radiographers, also known as x-ray or radiologic technologists perform diagnostic imaging examinations, such as x rays, on patients. You will be trained to position patients, evaluate images for diagnostic quality, use appropriate radiation protection, apply appropriate technical skills and communicate effectively with patients. This 21 month program includes a 12 week summer clinical practicum. It is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology. You would be eligible to take the national certification exam administered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.

Respiratory Care Degree: Associate in Science in Respiratory Care

Respiratory Care practitioners work closely with patients and other health care providers. You will acquire skills in the treatment, management, diagnosis and care of patients with cardiopulmonary dysfunction. Training will include the use of therapeutic gases, ventilator support, breathing exercises, aerosol administration, medications, humidification and maintenance of airways. You will likely work in a hospital however, opportunities exist in many areas of health care. This two year program includes a summer session and is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care.

Surgical Technology Degree: Associate in Science in Surgical Technology

The surgical technologist handles the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. He/she has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field.
