Scholarships and Grants
At the end of each spring semester, approximately forty scholarships from a college-wide pool are awarded to eligible graduating and returning students at Springfield Technical Community College. The stipends vary among the awards, and can be used as the student requires, including summer courses, if needed. Most of the awards are given out at the Scholarships Luncheon, but the Cooligan, Garvey, Parks, and Thompson are awarded on the evening before Commencement at the Honors Convocation, a formal ceremony which recognizes the accomplishments of exceptional graduating students.
Applications are accepted between early February and mid March. See the scholarship descriptions section for the exact dates as well as the locations where applications are available to current students. In addition to the college-wide awards which are administered by the Scholarships and Awards Committee, eligible students can be nominated by individual department chairs and school deans for other awards which are also given out at the Scholarships Luncheon or the Honors Convocation. In addition, there are a number of scholarships awarded by agencies outside of the college for which STCC students are eligible.
