Testing

Welcome to the Springfield Technical Community College Testing and Assessment Center located in Putnam Hall, Building 17, room 425.  A variety of tests are administered through the Testing and Assessment Center.  The Center is responsible for administering, correcting, and record keeping for Placement Tests, Challenge Exams, GED Exams, CLEP Exams, and Self-Paced ALGB-099 Exams.  As a community service, STCC is a testing site for certain tests which benefit the population of the surrounding areas. Other testing services are restricted for students attending STCC.

A Picture ID is required for all testing.

Center Hours:  Fall and Spring Semesters-Monday-Friday, 8AM to 3PM.  During Fall and Spring Semesters only, the Testing & Assessment Center will be open selected Wednesday evenings until 7pm.   Please call 413-755-4709 for these dates.  Students taking placement tests must arrive by 5pm.  On Wednesday evenings, GED Registrations are at 5:30pm.

Tests restricted for students at STCC

  • Placement Tests:   For incoming students to gather information needed to advise and schedule appropriate courses for each student.  Tests are available in the following areas:
    • Accuplacer Sentence Skills Test
    • Accuplacer Math Test(s)
    • Accuplacer Reading Test
    • Keyboarding Test
  • Challenge Exams: For STCC students registered in degree programs only. Credits toward graduation can be earned on a pass/fail basis.
  • Exams for Developmental Level Math Courses: Test generation, test taking, correction, record keeping, etc. during each semester for students enrolled in certain courses.
