Program Description

The Transition to College (T2C) program is designed to assist adult learners who have completed their high school equivalency (HiSET/GED) through a DESE-funded program such as SALC through their first year of college at STCC. T2C students have access to the following resources:

  • College credits, developmental courses, academic support, and advising
  • Preparation classes and activities for college (technology, math, writing, and reading)
  • Workshops to discover career interests, complete college applications, complete financial aid applications
  • STCC programs, scholarships, clubs, and activities
  • Help with the specific needs of first-generation college students and adult high school equivalence earners

Program Details

To be eligible for the T2C program students must be adult learners who have completed their high school equivalency (HiSET/GED) through a DESE-funded program such as the Springfield Adult Learning Center (SALC).

Student Handbook Policies

As a participant in this program/course I understand that I am bound by all the rules, regulations, and policies of STCC as outlined in the Springfield Technical Community College Student Handbook.

Partner agencies can submit T2C referrals by completing the SALC Partner Referral Form.

Hours

We are flexible! SALC staff members are available to meet in person on-campus and virtually:

Monday-Friday
 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Enrollment Process

  1. Complete the application form.
    • You may need to create an account before being able to fill out the application.
  2. Attend an assessment session.
    • A link to register for an in-person or on-campus assessment session will be emailed to you shortly.
