See Yourself Fueling Ambitions and Creating Opportunities

On September 24, 2023, we launched the 2023-2024 Annual Appeal. We are almost halfway towards our goal. Thank you for contributing to our beloved, and unique technical community college!

Whether you provide a recurring amount each month, or a one-time gift. it is through your help that STCC students overcome financial challenges and continue transforming their lives. This year, we decided to center our gifts on multiples of $56-a reference to our 56 years of history as an institution. Your gift helps students pursue economic mobility in a complex and changing world.

Although you may be hearing about "free community college,' we want you to know that your support is more critical and necessary than ever. Our students rely heavily on the generosity of our donors to fill the enormous void. The Center for Access Services (CAS) at STCC, for example, provideswrap-around services by paying for books, supplies, food, utilities, and emergency needs that only the STCC Foundation can fund. Last year alone we helped 165 students with $33,000 in donations that could only have been accomplished with your support. Through the generosity of Foundation donors:

  • There is an exceptional matching opportunity for new donors by Massachusetts (Public Higher Education Endowment Incentive), where for every $2 privately contributed, the Commonwealth matches $1;
  • Regular monthly giving ensures your commitment; please join the Ram Warrior Society with automatic withdrawals that ensure simple and seamless support;
  • You can lend support to the STCC Center for Access Services, which provides students with a broad range of assistance, including the Ram Mini-Mart,to encourage persistence and self-sufficiency;

Every student at STCC is working toward an exciting future, and every gift to the STCC Foundation helps students achieve their education and career goals. Our momentum continues to carry us forward; you help make a difference in the lives of students! Thank you once again for your support

A Message from Chair of the Annual Campaign, Brian Tuohey

Brian Touhey speaking at alumni event

This is Brian Tuohey, the CEO of The Collins Companies, and I have the honor and the privilege to be the honorary chair of the STCC Foundation Annual Fund Appeal for 2023-2024, which had its “kickoff” announcement on Sunday, September 24 at the “Big E”, courtesy of my longtime friend and fellow Foundation Board Member, Mr. Gene Cassidy. Our campaign slogan is “See Yourself Here... Fueling Ambitions and Creating Opportunities” and our campaign goal is $200,000. When, we achieve this goal we will be helping students to realize their dream of being a college graduate and joining our workforce in Western Massachusetts (85% of our students live and work right here). We all know that costs are rising everywhere and because of the rising cost of books, food, childcare, and overall educational expenses our students are, more than ever, in need of our help and support.

I am proud to share that The Collins Companies announced at our “kickoff” event a $5,000 challenge grant and I am very hopeful that many of you are able to join me, at whatever level you can, to give these students a chance at a better life for themselves and their families. Please join us, as generous donors and contributors, and help us to “pay it forward, so that these deserving students might have the opportunity to pursue a better life.  Remember, if you have the ability, you have the responsibility!
