Students in this program complete courses in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Desktop Publishing). All credits in this program can be transferred into the Professional Office Administrative Assistant (POAA.AS) degree program. Upon successful completion of this program, students possess proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.

The Registered Nurse at the associate degree level will be prepared for a career that provides compassionate care for all ages in a variety of health care settings. The nursing program is fully accredited by the BORN and ACEN. STCC also has numerous articulation agreements to continue on for your bachelor degree and higher.

Occupational Therapy Assistants help clients across the life span reach functional goals related to play, work, education and self- care. For example, you may help an individual who has had a stroke re-learn to dress him/herself, or may help a child with cerebral palsy learn to operate a computer with adapted equipment. You could work in a variety of settings such as hospitals, clinics, rehabilitation facilities, schools and community centers. This program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education of the American Occupational Therapy Association.

Physical Therapist Assistant - PTAS.AS Degree: Associate in Science in Physical Therapist Assistant

Physical Therapist Assistants work as technical health care providers who work under the supervision of a physical therapist. You would perform movement-related activities and therapeutic techniques for patients with burns, amputations, spinal cord injuries and cardiac, neurologic and orthopedic injuries. Such techniques might include gait training, heat and cold applications, massage and the use of assistive, prosthetic and orthotic devices. This two year program leads to an Associate degree and is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education.

The MDVT.AS Transfer degree will provide students with a strong foundation in math and science that will leave them well prepared for further study in a pre-professional program of their choice. Students will be able to complete all of their foundational courses in math and science along with a diversity of electives so that they may be able to focus on more advanced and specialized coursework upon transferring to a four-year college or university.

Professional Office Administrative Assistant - POAA.AS Degree: Associate in Science in Office Information Technologies

Administrative assistants are seen as part of the management team and ensure the efficient day-to-day operations of the office. Responsibilities may include: managing calendars; scheduling travel, meeting and event arrangements; preparing reports and financial data; training other support staff; and providing exemplary customer service. Students in this program complete courses in Microsoft Office, project management, keyboarding, Internet research, and “soft skills” for career readiness and success.

Radiologic Technology - DMIR.AS Degree: Associate in Science in Diagnostic Medical Imaging

Radiographers, also known as x-ray or radiologic technologists perform diagnostic imaging examinations, such as x rays, on patients. You will be trained to position patients, evaluate images for diagnostic quality, use appropriate radiation protection, apply appropriate technical skills and communicate effectively with patients. This 21 month program includes a 12 week summer clinical practicum. It is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology. You would be eligible to take the national certification exam administered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.

Respiratory Care - RSPC.AS Degree: Associate in Science in Respiratory Care

Respiratory Care practitioners work closely with patients and other health care providers. You will acquire skills in the treatment, management, diagnosis and care of patients with cardiopulmonary dysfunction. Training will include the use of therapeutic gases, ventilator support, breathing exercises, aerosol administration, medications, humidification and maintenance of airways. You will likely work in a hospital however, opportunities exist in many areas of health care. This two year program includes a summer session and is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care.

The surgical technologist handles the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. He/she has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon.
