Dear Campus Community,

I am pleased to inform you that, for the month of June a total of 62 COVID tests were administered on campus with zero positive cases reported. The trend continues, as last week, there were 13 tests administered, and all were negative.

Summer Transition and Fall Semester 2021

The College is moving steadily through a summer transition and, beginning on Monday, July 12th we are discontinuing the Healthy Roster and Campus Check-ins and the wearing of masks both indoors and out will be voluntary. As you know, we will continue to provide COVID Testing and COVID Vaccine Clinics at the Corner Café building 15/16.

  • Fridays: 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Campus Repopulation Workgroup

The Campus Repopulation Workgroup held its combined on-campus/Zoom meeting on Tuesday. The first topic was the wrap up the STCC Squad and Check-in stations. In that regard, I would like to recognize the awesome work of our Director of Athletics, Jenkin Gould and Alberto Nieves, Fitness Center Coordinator who have managed the STCC Squad and Check-in Stations throughout the Pandemic.

Other topics included; the Authorized Testing Center running at full capacity in the fall, the opening of the Armory Museum, the return of the Armory Square Day Care on September 1st, and the Bookstore partial opening on August 2nd (Mon. – Fri. 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.) and full opening on August 23rd (Mon. – Fri. 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.). Online ordering will still be available.

The group learned that “Grab N Go” food service is planned for the Scibelli Hall (B2) Café and vending machines will be stocked in Buildings 2, 13, 17, and 19. Meanwhile, College for Kids will begin on July 26th and an Extreme Science Kids Conference is being planned for August 6th. A recommendation was made to open the gym next week so coaches can invite returning student-athletes and new recruits to get familiar with the campus and ready for pre-season workouts.

Speaking of exercise, the Fitness Center is scheduled to open August 2nd. Other updates include fall class numbers. To date, there are 130 faculty scheduled to be on-site in the fall with 330 sections and 1,200 students scheduled from Monday – Saturday.
