STEM Summer Teen Program
The STEM Summer Teen Program at Springfield Technical Community College is open to teens in ages 12-17 years old and is completely free for all participants. These engaging summer offerings are designed to introduce students to STEM majors on campus, including computer coding, math, and graphic arts. Students will experience hands-on learning in a fun and interactive environment, guided by inspiring and supportive STEM faculty and staff. It's an excellent opportunity for teens to explore potential careers in STEM while building valuable skills for the future.
Basics
Dates: three, week-long sessions between July 14 - August 1.
Times: sessions are 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., Monday - Friday
Age Requirements: Students must be between the ages 12-17
Food: Lunch and snacks will be provided
Cost: FREE for all accepted participants
Program Offerings

Math Matters
Math Matters is an exploration of the amazing world of mathematics from financial literacy to physics and more! Students will explore mathematical concepts using games, challenges, and hands-on projects to learn how math is the engine that drives our world!

Airbrushing
Does your teen love art and being creative? During this artistic and technical program, students will learn to use airbrushing equipment, digital media technology, and vibrant colors to design vibrant creative projects they can take home and wear!

Creating Mobile Apps
Creating Mobile Apps is an introduction to the exciting world of developing apps for mobile and tablet devices. Students will learn coding basics to complete coding challenges and create applications for mobile computing devices. This program will culminate with a student portfolio of Android Apps.
