SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Springfield Technical Community College will celebrate STEM Week between Oct. 20 and 24, offering free and interactive science demonstrations and activities for students and the community. Events are open to the public and will be held in the Student Learning Commons (Building 19) Forum.

Monday, Oct. 20 – “Bacteria and Lasers”
12:15–1:15 p.m.
Watch bacteria grow and lasers glow in this live STEM Week demo. See living science in action, feel the power of light, and watch curiosity spark – no lab coat required! Participants can also swab their phones on Monday and return Tuesday to discover what’s lurking under the microscope.
Tuesday, Oct. 21 – “Petri Dish: Meet Your Microbe Neighbors!”
