College Theater Workshop

Actors rehearse Medea, fall 2017 production

The STCC College Theater Workshop provides an opportunity for students to experience the fun of participating in a full scale theatrical event. In addition to our student actors and actresses we welcome students from all academic disciplines. Our students build sets and market each of our innovative productions. Recent plays have included The Laramie Project, Distracted, The Bacchae, and Clybourne Park.

The College Theater Workshop in December 2017 will perform Medea, Nicholas Rudall’s translation of the Euripides play. Performances consist of two different production concepts.  One concept calls for the actors to wear “ancient” attire, while the other will be done in completely “modern” attire.

Performance times are:

  • Thursday, Dec. 7, 11 a.m. (modern context)
  • Friday, Dec. 8, 7 p.m. (ancient context)
  • Saturday, Dec. 9, 7 p.m. (modern context)
  • Sunday, Dec. 10, 2 p.m. (ancient context)

All performances will be held in the Scibelli Hall Theater. General admission tickets, which are available at the door, cost $10 for the public and $5 for students, staff, faculty and seniors.
