HSI Week at STCC

The week will help raise awareness about the contributions made by STCC as an Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI). HSI designation is given to colleges with a student population that is at least 25% of students identifying as Latina/Latino/Latinx. Being an HSI means we are committed to addressing the unique needs and challenges faced by our Hispanic student population. 

Events this week include:
Tuesday, Sept. 10: Community Celebration, 12:15-2:15 pm, Building 2, 7th floor, Food, makeovers, haircuts and more.
Wednesday, Sept. 11, Salsa Dance lessons, 12:15-2:15 pm, Outside B19. Come learn the steps and history of Salsa dance while learning more about STCC. Dance party and food trucks
provided.
Thursday, Sept. 12, Hamilton screening, Building 17 Auditorium, 12:15-3:15. Enjoy the musical Hamilton written by the Hispanic songwriter, actor, singer, and so much more, Lin-Manuel Miranda. Popcorn and finger food provided.
Friday, Sept. 13, Grab and Go Goodie bags. Join us in the STEM center and grab a goodie bag filled with candy and fun facts about Hispanic culture/countries. In the STEM center, building 17 room 425.
