STCC announces fall 2021 dean’s list

Springfield Technical Community College celebrates the accomplishment of the 698 students who were named to the fall 2021 dean’s list. The dean’s list is published each semester to recognize excellence in academic performance. To be considered, degree-seeking students must earn 12 or more college level credits in the current semester, or a total of 12 or more combined college-level credits earned during the fall and spring semesters, and achieve a 3.3 or above grade point average.

STCC to offer Legal Interpreting Certificate course

Springfield Technical Community College is offering a workforce development course for students seeking to expand their interpreting skills in legal settings. The Legal Interpreting Certificate program, which runs Feb. 22-April 21, is open to students who speak Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic or Russian. Taught through the STCC Workforce Development Center, the online course is held Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

STCC to offer auto damage appraising course

Springfield Technical Community College will offer an auto damage appraising license preparation course for insurance claims professionals and auto body technicians beginning Feb. 8. The 60-hour course, held in person on the STCC campus, is the first step to becoming an auto damage appraiser in Massachusetts. The training through STCC’s Workforce Development Center prepares students for the exam to be a licensed appraiser.

Damian Breton admits he wasn’t a good student when he first went to college in 2005. But years later, he went back to school and seriously applied himself at Springfield Technical Community College. His diligence paid off. He’s now a student at the highly competitive Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst.
