STCC's 50 associate degree programs offer over 400 easy pathways for transferring to a four-year college and university.
Students interested in transferring to four-year institutions should plan early in order to take courses or programs paralleling requirements at the college they plan to attend.
College transfer representatives are available for info sessions with STCC students throughout the academic year.
STCC Transfer Programs
STCC transfer programs are specifically designed for students who plan to transfer to a 4-year college or university after earning an associate degree at STCC.
The courses offered in these programs are generally those required to provide a broad educational background before beginning specialization in a major field of study.
Transfer Readiness Course
In this one-credit course, students will learn criteria to assess different colleges, hear guest speakers discuss the transfer process, research various transfer institutions, and learn valuable strategies to succeed at a four-year institution.
STCC is proud to offer a number of transfer agreements with dozens of 4-year colleges and universities. Many agreements leverage the MassTransfer or Commonwealth Commitment programs that provide seamless pathways and financial incentives for the most affordable college education. Others are specifically built around academic interests or pathways to a private 4-year institution.
STCC has partnered with the Cooperating Colleges of Greater Springfield (CCGS) to offer joint admission to American International College, Bay Path University, Elms College, Springfield College, and Western New England University.
