Springfield Technical Community College will offer a winter session of four-week online classes beginning Friday, December 22, 2017 and ending Thursday, January 18, 2018. Winter session is the perfect opportunity for area college students to earn college credit during the traditional winter break period. Our winter classes are taught by faculty who are experts in their fields, and who have years of experience in delivering online instruction.

Please be aware that the short duration of these classes will result in an intensive, fast-paced learning experience. Motivation, steady participation, and persistence will be key to students' success in these classes!

Tuition and fees for Winter classes are due December 12, 2018. Students who register after December 12 must make payment arrangements at the time of registration.

Please note for financial aid, federal regulations prohibit any students beginning in the Spring semester from using financial aid to cover a winter course.

Winter Refund Policy:

  • Withdrawal on or before the 1st day of the semester - 100% (tuition and fees)
  • Withdrawal on the 2nd day of the semester - 75% (tuition, Gen. Ed fee and capital improvement fee only)
  • Withdrawal on the 3rd day the semester - 50% (tuition, Gen. Ed fee and capital improvement fee only)
  • Withdrawal after the 3rd day of the semester - No refund
  • All refunds take approximately six (6) weeks to process.

Online Education Orientation Sessions

Orientation sessions to prepare students for online classes are offered online from 12/10/18 – 12/20/18.

An in-person orientation will also be held on Tuesday, December 18 at 1:00pm in the Library Computer Lab, Building 27/Room 129.

Attending only one session is necessary. The orientation is not a requirement, but is highly recommended.

Students with Disabilities

Any student with a documented disability is eligible for services from the Office of Disability Services. Documentation guidelines and verification forms are available and should be sent or dropped off to the Office of Disability Services prior to requesting services. Students are encouraged to make an appointment to meet with the ODS staff to review submitted documentation and determine accommodation needs as soon as they register for winter session. Contact us at 413-755-4785 to schedule an appointment. The offices are located in Building 27 on the 2nd floor. Note that the Office of Disability Services will close at 4pm on December 21, 2018 and will reopen December 31, 2018 so students are encouraged to register with our office early.
